Mentor Program

FMA SFL is proud to announce the kick-off of our Mentor/Mentee program just in time for National Mentoring Month in January!

Recognizing the labor trends in our industry and the importance of proper succession planning, your SFL Chapter has taken the important step of creating a program to help guide the newest members of our FM industry.  The program provides a structured yet trusted relationship where Mentors and Mentees can freely share ideas, discuss options, evaluate outcomes, and guide future development. As a result, both the Mentor and Mentee will gain invaluable insight and growth as they form their partnership.

What the Program Will Do:

  • Provide mentees with knowledgeable facilities professionals who can offer a wealth of experience and advice and enhance career development
  • Help facility managers with less experience explore career goals and/or enhance their skillset and knowledge of FM to achieve their greatest potential.
  • Help facility managers in career transition to explore new pathways
  • Allow senior members to mentor others and share their experiences
  • Help the FM industry by providing FMs who aim for the highest professional standards
  • Help develop lasting relationships that will exist beyond the program
Our committee members worked diligently to develop the program to ensure our members' experience was both positive and fruitful.  It is up to you to take advantage of all a Mentor/Mentee program offers.  Attached to this email is a copy of the program, including application forms for both Mentors and Mentees.  I strongly encourage you to participate in the program.
